#1: Gator (Gator) on Jun 4, 2010 [HINT]

I cannot find a good way to finish this one out without using symmetry. Based on the image, it's obvious how this one should finish out, but I do not see a logical way to get there.

Found to require some guessing by Gator.

yes that's right but it's what you say the left side is the mirror of the right side and you best start from the middle.

Hmmmm. I didn't guess. I intentionally refrained from using symmetry just to see how far I could get. I used inner edge logic on the black center at the bottom. It was easy to see that enxtending the black down on either C24 or C27 would interfere with the top of that black section in C25 and C26. Then some edge logic on the black in the top rows: the 2 clues tell me where the black 2s in R5 do not go. With dots in R5 from C21-C30, that's all I needed to finish up the rest with line logic.

Very nice puzzle, by the way. I had a lot of fun solving this one.

Well, this is a first, Gator, that I could figure out edge logic like this without your help. :-)
