Cute! :-) I had no idea what it was going to be from the clue, though I figured it out about halfway through.

I tought of the pirate early but the left side of the face surprise me. Good little one

I love the simplicity of this image.

He must have been sleeping too long on the hard ship's floor... or gotten hit one too many times by a bottle of rum or something.... look at the flat R side of his head! :-) LOL

It also looks like a beer stein with a picture of a pirate on it (the ear is the handle of the stein) - so I'd say this is a mug shot (various puns intended).

I was about to say the same as #6 ... is it a pirate or a ceramic coffe mug (or beer stein)? Either way a really nice puzzle/image. Has to be about the fastest I've solved a puzzle of this size.

I heard that pirates wore an eye patch so that one eye was accustomed to low light. Then when they went into the map room they could switch the eye patch and see in the dim light. It makes sense to me.

You had me guessing. I wasn't sure if it was a pirate or an Arab in a turban. Nice job!

My favorite pirate joke:

A guy with a peg leg, hook for am arm and an eyepatch clumps into a bar and orders a pint o' grog. The barman says wow, you must have some interesting stories, what happened to your leg?
Ah, me ship went down in shark-infested waters. I fought off three of them, but the fourth one got me leg. So I got the peg.
Ooh, that's awful, what about your arm?
Ah, we was taking over a galleon, got into a big sword fight. I skewered about a dozen of them, but one of 'em cut me arm off. So I got the hook.

Ah, goldang seagull crapped in it.
