Found to be logically solvable by Gator.

You will need edge logic a little into the puzzle. At the end, you will need to use "affirmation" logic on either the 2 clue in column 17 or the 2 clue in row 4. You need to see that no matter where you put the 2 clue in column 17 (or row 4), this will affect column 16 (or row 5) in the same way.

Fun Gator! Thanks!
#4: Matt Coulter (mcoulter) on Apr 14, 2010 [HINT]
Yes - another Gator puzzle! And there was much rejoicing.

The "affirmation logic" at the end tripped me up. I think we need some small puzzles that employ this logic as a way of practice, if I may be so bold as to make that request!

Thanks Amanda and Matt!

"Affirmation" logic was used in the Slumped puzzle I did.

In that puzzle, it was looking at row 5 and seeing how row 4 was affected.

Fun? Fun for you maybe, but misery, pain and suffering for those of us with limited solving ability. Oh, my aching brain! :( All kidding aside, a nice challenging little puzzle. Well done!
#7: Sallie Wilbur (sarriemom) on Apr 14, 2010
This took me a long time considering it was just 20x20. Of course, I knew that going into it because it's a Gator puzzle! The image was a fun reward.

toughest puz to date Gator, thx :-)
#9: ant (agrest272) on Apr 14, 2010
great image, i solved the end pretty much exactly as stated in #2, testing out the 2 in C17 and looking one step ahead to see what could and couldn't work. fun one.
#10: Jane Doe (telly) on Apr 14, 2010
great fun to solve and nice image. :) I too solved it with the affirmation logic.
#11: Gator (Gator) on Apr 14, 2010
Thanks all!

Great puzzle!
#13: Teresa K (fasstar) on Apr 15, 2010
Great image and LOTS of fun to solve. I really enjoyed the challenge at the very end.
#14: Sydnee Sherman (syd) on Apr 15, 2010
Grrrr! I love your puzzles but I always want to quit. It's as if every row/column is just off by one to fill in a pixel.
#15: Gator (Gator) on Apr 16, 2010
Thanks Linda, Teresa, and Syd.

Syd - I usually find that if I get to that point in a puzzle, then I save it and come back to it later. Sometimes it is easier to look at a puzzle with a fresh brain.

I wish I had any kind of a brain at all right now! :D

Wonderfulness!

Thanks!

I just solved this again and see that simple edge logic towards the end makes R4C17 invalid as it will cause either R6 or C15 to be invalid.
#20: Eric (kelalatir) on Apr 30, 2020 [HINT]
I'm attempting this puzzle for the first time, and I'm getting stuck about half way through. I can continue if I resort to guessing, but I'm hoping someone will take pity on me and help me out with the logical solution. I've tried Gator's hints about affirmation logic and edge logic above, but none of them seem to apply to my point of the puzzle. I cannot find any squares that are forced to a single color, nor any contradictions that are not at least 4 moves ahead.

What is the next logical step?

Eric, you'll probably kick yourself, since I see you've done this on rows 10 and 15.
The pixels at c6r5 and r7 must be white due to line logic. The pixel at c6r6 must be one of the 1s in that column.
#22: Eric (kelalatir) on Apr 30, 2020 [HINT]
That was it, Joe, thank you! I got so caught up looking for advanced logic, I missed the line logic. I should have taken the Gator's other advice above and taken a break for a while and then coming back with fresh eyes.
