Puzzle Description:

Comic-Book Theme # 1 the Punisher chest skull

#1: Robert Kummerfeldt (rmkummerfeldt) on Apr 17, 2007 [SPOILER]

Nice puzzle - pretty straightforward except for one tricky spot towards the ends, but everything works out logically.

I prefer puzzles sizes that are even multiples of 5 - it makes counting from the right and bottom easier. However, on inverted puzzles like this one (black background, white design), you can't just throw a blank row or 2 in without ruining the image. I guess sometimes I just have to make sure I count carefully for the sake of "artistry".
#2: Jan Wolter (jan) on Apr 17, 2007 [HINT]
Nice puzzle. I had to do some trial-and-error backtracking to get the eyes to work out, but there is definitely only one solution.
#3: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz) on Jun 19, 2007
Good puzzle. I used to get fustrated with puzzles that weren't in multiples of five but I've gotten used to them now and it even throws in a little bit of extra challenge, so keep up the good work. :)
#4: Gypso (Gypso) on Jul 13, 2007 [SPOILER]
I am not familiar with this character, however both of my grown sons knew what it was after I barely started. Like Marie-Louise, I too get thrown off by the counting but that makes me work a little harder. Thanks :)
#5: Twillis (twillis) on Oct 27, 2007
Fun puzzle. Comic characters are a good idea.
#6: Deana L (FFsWife) on Oct 29, 2007 [SPOILER]
See how not into comic books I am? Even knowing the title of the puzzle, the whole way through I was thinking upside down guitar (neck pointing down)... Glad you gave a description or I'd still be thinking that. :D
#7: Rea Aksglæde Karlsen (rea) on Jun 27, 2008 [HINT]
i did not have to gues. when you know the ones in the 4-1-6 rows have to be in row 17 or 18 you know the two's in 1-5-2-4 have to be in row 17-18, then the rest just flows....

no guessing required
#8: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 18, 2008
Still don't know what I am looking at.
#9: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Aug 19, 2008 [SPOILER]

Thanks. I STILL don't know or care. :-) I don't share your silly tastes. That's all.

;-)

'nuff said!!

Yep. It's all good.
#13: Jan Wolter (jan) on Dec 8, 2008 [HINT]
With rea's hint in comment #7 I was able to figure out how to solve this logically. It's actually an instance of what I called "two-way" logic on the "Advanced Puzzle Solving Techiques" page.
#14: Rea Aksglæde Karlsen (Rea) on Dec 9, 2008
yay I got something right :-p
#15: Jota (jota) on Dec 25, 2008
Ditto # 6

Qwerty what I got from Google doesn't look at like this. Help!
#17: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Dec 25, 2008 [SPOILER]
many variation on the same pattern were release depending on the art team dehind the comic. Plus the 2 films got slitly diffrend symbol ( think of it like the Batman symbol, always something diffrent but always a bat)
#18: Gator (gator) on Sep 9, 2011 [HINT]
Another variation on the logic just using edge logic: Looking at column 12, try to extend the 4 clue down to row 10. This makes you complete the left 5 clue in row 10. Notice how this will affect row 5. It makes it so that row 5 cannot have both 2 clues place now. So we know that R10C12 is not part of the 4 clue in column 12. So we can mark R6C12 as black (but we cannot make R10C12 a dot as it COULD be the 1 clue). The same logic can be applied on the right side to make R6C18 black.

The rest solves with line logic.

Great puzzle!

thanks Gator been a long time since I design this one not sure I was thinking so far as far as solving method back than
#20: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Oct 19, 2012 [HINT] [SPOILER]
I used edge logic to finish it. Mine might be a bit simpler than Gators:

When line logic runs out, look at the 3 in c4. If it goes all the way down to r15, then the 5,6,5 in rows 13-15 make a block of 1 in c9. That is impossible, so c4r15 must be white. Then line logic solves this eye.

Do the same mirrored on the 3 in c26 and then line logic to finish.

All in all, not so punishing.
#21: Bryan (Cyclone) on Dec 5, 2013 [HINT]
My strategy was looking at row 5. Place the 2 at the start of the first remaining four square segment and the other at the end of the other segment. On both sides, row 11 becomes illogical. You can then fill in one certain square on both sides and the rest solves. I did need edge strategy, therefore.

No guessing and no idea what this is.
