peek at solution solve puzzle
quality: difficulty:
solvability: line & color logic only
Puzzle Description:
Barbie's boyfriend Ken, with is big blue eyes and his big blue razor.

I'm not sure Ken and Barbie are the healthiest role models for our children, but considering the real role models in sports and movies and on TV, they don't seem so bad.#2: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Mar 22, 2010 [HINT]

Interesting how this was supposedly line-logic solvable, but I got stuck. I even resorted to the L feature, and nothing. I checked helper and got even less than I had solving it on my own.#3: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Mar 22, 2010 [HINT]
Color logic didn't help on the remaining blue in the bottom left corner (it will always be a diagonal, but could work either direction).
I maxed out my edge logic and other attempts at avoiding guessing. What am I missing?
I finally found that the 4 in row 24 had to go to the right of the 9 in row 30, and then it solved with further advanced logic. Wow. This was tough!#4: Jane Doe (telly) on Mar 22, 2010
Zounds! I had to do some extended logic to do this one. So difficult but nice image.#5: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 22, 2010 [HINT]
I think you guys might have been making it more difficult than it really is. When I got stuck, I looked at the bottom row. The black two can only go in one place, to the left of the blue clues. Then the diagonal works its way up from there by looking at the single blues in C7-12.#6: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Mar 22, 2010
You know what? You are absolutely right. That was a lot easier. Now, imagine trying to solve this puzzle without doing that! LOL#7: jewel crown (jewel) on Mar 23, 2010
Great image, by the way.
You're amazing Teresa!#8: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Mar 23, 2010
I did what you said Teresa before I looked at the comments and found it was an easy enough solve - just the way I like them!#9: Jan Wolter (jan) on Mar 24, 2010 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Fun puzzle. I too solved it exactly the way Teresa describes.#10: Sallie Wilbur (sarriemom) on Mar 29, 2010
re Adam: Yeah, the checker that provides most of the "solvable by logic alone" tags does both line and color logic extremely well, so it would have had no trouble at all with this puzzle. The helper does line logic moderately well, and doesn't do color logic at all, so it was stumped. The hints come from the helper and also aren't color logic aware.
I was amused by the "Super Shaving Ken" doll advertisement. A lot of these special feature Barbie dolls are seriously wacky. I think there was actually a Skipper doll with inflatable breasts once. I have a hard time imagining a little girl who really, really wanted a "Super Shaving Ken" but I bet they sell well on eBay these days.
Wow, talk about creepy!#11: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Sep 4, 2016
Never saw this advertisement. Interesting use of color.
