The puzzle # (8086) is very apt. The original IBM PC used the 8086 processor.
My first computer was an Epson IBM-compatible that used the cheaper 8-bit 8088. It had a 20MB hard drive that could hold the Encyclopedia Britannica!! And all of Shakespeare!

So why is my 30,000MB on this laptop nearly full?

Oh, I also have one of the very few computers that used the 80186 processor. And - to bring it back to the theme of the puzzle - I used to design bit-mapped fonts for it.
