Puzzle Description:
A pretty fruit treat made of a strawberry nested in half a kiwi. This is what I will give my daughter Karie on Valentine's Day instead of candy.

Am I a mean mom? A health nut? Anti-chocolate? Not at all! My daughter has a disorder of the hypothalamus and is on a very restricted diet. Lots of fruits and veggies, hardly any sweets. But she does get diet cocoa every morning and a Hershey's kiss every night (for the serotonin), and every weekend I take her for a date with her boyfriend for some low-cal fat free frozen yogurt. But doesn't this little fruit treat look yummy? Here's the photo:#2: michelle johnson (blubrd420) on Feb 1, 2010

She likes to eat the entire kiwi, skin and all. How about you?
:)#3: Nancy Kay (joyfulnancy) on Feb 1, 2010
yum, but no skin, thank you!#4: Jane Doe (telly) on Feb 1, 2010 [SPOILER]
I can't imagine eating the skin. makes me shiver just thinking about it.#5: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 1, 2010 [SPOILER]
The treat does sound yummy though!
LOL, Telly. Eating it with the skin is a unique culinary experience.#6: Sallie Wilbur (sarriemom) on Feb 1, 2010 [SPOILER]
LOL, Telly, it gave me the shivers too! I can't even eat fresh peaches with the skin for that same reason.#7: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 2, 2010
Teresa, a lovely puzzle!
Thanks, Sallie.#8: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Feb 2, 2010 [SPOILER]
I always eat the kiwi skin. I don't even notice it...but then I eat peaches unskinned too. How on earth could anyone hold a skinned peach in their hand and take a big juicy bite out of it without risking the peach jumping out of their hand? lol! My way the juice only runs down my chin!#9: Debbie Weidig (dweidig) on Feb 2, 2010 [SPOILER]
Teresa, your daughter is lucky to have you, helping her make all those good choices! (And it's nice she gets a chocolate kiss every night, too! Life is better with a little chocolate!)#10: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 2, 2010
Mmmmmmm, fruit. Add mango, and I am lovin' it!#11: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 2, 2010
Thanks, DW.#12: Jota (jota) on Feb 8, 2010 [SPOILER]
No skin for me it looks like ,,, well monkey skin ... I like the idea of nesting this in a slice of mango ... Happy Valentines Teresa, Karie and all of my friends here!#13: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 8, 2010
Thanks, Jota. Monkey skin? LOL.#14: Jota (jota) on Feb 8, 2010
The first time I had Kiwi was at a restaurant in Miami. I asked the waiter about that fruit, he said it's so pretty they even use it on wedding cakes, I asked him to show me a whole one (I only had slices in my plate). I was sure he was teasing me when he brought it. At the moment I thought it was a monkey ball.#15: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 8, 2010

Re #14, aren't those a delicacy in some cultures? Yuck.
