Thanks for the links, Sanane. I didn't know about the Stabilization Mission in Haiti. That is a sad, long list.#6: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 25, 2010
I am sorry for all wars that are fought unnecessarily or for the wrong reasons. I have never experienced battle personally, not in war, and not in domestic violence, but I have friends who fought in Viet Nam who came back with a piece of their souls missing that they cannot get back, and I have friends who experienced serious abuse as children who have a hole in their heart that can never be fixed. Both experiences cause permanent damage that should never happen.
I am grateful that I never had to serve my country in a way that would compromise my principles (I served 20 years as a volunteer instead). I am grateful that I grew up with loving and nurturing parents with all my basic needs met. And I am grateful that I live in the U.S. where I have had the resources to foster/adopt the children nobody else wanted. I just wish I had more resources to help more kids, at home in our own community and in Haiti. What I can do is make donations so others can provided what is needed. I hope others will commit to help as well.
Thanks, Telly.#7: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Jan 25, 2010
