Puzzle Description:

Milou, the dog from the Belgian Comic "Les aventures de Tintin" from Hergé. Hope it is known in the States.

I hadn't heard of him. Nice puzzle, though.
#2: Matie (reanimatie) on Jan 21, 2010 [HINT] [SPOILER]
He's called "Snowy" in the English translation. I loved those books as a kid.

I had never heard of him, but I love the puzzle! It was fun to solve and watch his image materialize.

Nice job. I love all the Tintin comic books. I don't know if it's a translation thing or what but Milou is known as "Snowy" in the USA.

Why does it look so sad? No more whisky? Was #7636 captured?

Terrible ! (-> en: 'Terrific!')
Merci ! (-> en: 'Thanks!' )

Easy to identify for the French but not that easy to solve. An great puzzle!

Answer to #6: Milou is no translation of 'snowy' (snowy is 'neigeux' in French). From what I know, Milou is nothing but the short of the first name 'Émile' (see Louis Malle's movie "Milou en mai"). If anyone has other meanings, feel free...

Belgian 'Comics' authors are definitively great: André Franquin, François Schuiten, Daniel Hulet... and likely many more ;o)

Thanks again!

I love the Tintin books, and I recognized Snowy early on. I believe that they're coming out with a Tintin movie soon. Great image and choice of subject!
