The PS10 is the world’s first tower technology solar thermoelectric power plant constructed for commercial operation.

It is 40 stories high.

The panels are sun-tracking mirrors that are each 120-square meters in size, and a receiver that converts concentrated solar energy from the heliostats into steam that eventually drives the turbines. Currently, only one field of mirrors is up and running, but even that produces enough power to energize 6,000 homes. There are currently 600 mirror panels.

This image might be a little obscure, since it's not something you would easily recognize. I't pretty awesome in the photos. The photo I used is here:

Not specifically related to this puzzle, but I wanted to let you know that I appreciate puzzles of this size - I generally use a small netbook-type computer (10 inch screen) and anything more than 25 cells high doesn't fit on the screen. Thanks!

Joel, I will be more than happy to make some more of this size. :-) Are the homophone puzzles too wide?

Thanks, Telly. I could not do the image justice in the puzzle. It almost looks like something from outer space.

Nice work, but I thought it was an airport.

This is such a cool idea! But the Wikipedia page looks like it hasn't been updated in a long time. It talks about other similar solar power plants that were planned to be built by 2013, but nothing about whether they ever were built. I'd be curious to hear how this worked out. My guess is that it wasn't optimal or there would be more of them.
