"Red right returning" refers not to the boat's running lights, but to the channel markers. So coming into a harbor, or upriver, stay to the left of the red markers (so the marker is on your right).#12: Pam Tucker (grammypam) on Mar 26, 2025
Do you know that the term "posh" was an acronym for "port over starboard home"? The upperclass didn't like to rise early so they wanted state rooms that were not on the sunny side of the ship...thus they wanted the port side on the trip out...and the starboard side on the trip home.
