No guessing required. Edge logic on the C1 and R1 make the rest of the puzzle easy to solve.#2: Kai-Uwe Zickerick (conzick) on Nov 25, 2009
Quite right, Teresa!#3: Jennifer Jones (geekess) on Nov 25, 2009
Why is it when I do edge logic I always seem to start 'guessing' at the wrong end...sigh.#4: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Nov 29, 2009 [HINT]
Great puzzle. Ditto #1.#5: Jane Doe (telly) on Nov 29, 2009
In Re: #3, when I first started learning to use edge logic, I would always just start in the upper left corner and randomly try any and/or all edges until I found one that worked. As I have gotten better at edge logic, I can start to see places that it will work. Quickly glancing at the first 2 columns here, for example, you see them ending in a 4 and a 1. That practically screams edge logic. Now quickly glancing at the first clues of all the bottom rows, you can see that the 4 can't go anywhere down there because they are all > 1, and so on.
In fact, after reading these comments, I went back and tried starting over and using edge logic everywhere else and I couldn't get anything.
nice riddle. I like the puzzle too. ;)#6: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Dec 9, 2009
Found to be logically solvable by Gator.#7: Gator (Gator) on Dec 9, 2009 [HINT]
#4 - you can use some edge logic (and deep edge logic) with the 5 clues in row 20 and column 20, but it would be utterly pointless, as you mentioned, because of the 4 clues that are practically screaming at you. Nice puzzle.#8: Diana W (aeris) on Apr 16, 2010 [HINT] [SPOILER]
