I had to do a lot of googling to figure out who Ratata is, though it would have been easier if I hadn't misread "Lucky Luke" as "Lucky Lake" which is a town in Sashkatchewan and which has nothing to do with anything.
"Lucky Luke" is a Belgian comic set in the American old west, vaguely in the same category as Tin Tin and Asterix. There is a dog originally named "Rantanplan" (a pun on "Rin Tin Tin") who is "stupider than his own shadow". In Norwegian translations (and Danish as well, I guess) his name is "Ratata". In English versions he is "Rin Tin Can" or "Bushwack".
Maybe I should look into these books for my son. He's been enjoying the Tin Tin books.

I didn't have to know who the subject of this puzzle was to enjoy solving it, and the information gathered in afterwards was appreciated as well. Nice puzzle.#9: Ellen Gardner (Belita) on Feb 21, 2014 [SPOILER]
