Puzzle Description:

Is a '86 Volkswagen Golf Mark 1 convertible. He is getting a new engine and a new paintjob. We will be on the road again next summer (if we even get a real summer... its Holland you now...)

Now that's a nice car! Which color will you choose? I love a VW color called "Tornadorot" (tornado red), our 1968 Beetle has that color.
#2: Gator (Gator) on Oct 14, 2009 [HINT] [SPOILER]
I solved the right blue, all of the black, and most of the red. I then used edge logic on the 7 clues at the edge of the blue circle (they can only go in one place). I then solved the rest of the blue. Then on row 27, there is only 1 place that the red 1 clue will go without causing a contradiction on row 23. At this point, I do not see a good way to move forward without looking many moves ahead.

Found to require some guessing by Gator.

Too Petra Lassen...
My car is now "Havana Brown". The interior is also brown, its an limited edition. The new color will be a little darker, when i have enough money to spend he also gets a new beige top.
Beetle is called in Dutch "Kever" and I like that car also very much! especially the old editions! is your "kever" also an convertible?

No, unfortunately it is not a convertible, but since we live in Sweden it's probably just as well.

Right now it's actually just awaiting my oldest girl's 18th birthday (in 4½ years) - it'll be her first car, just as it was her father's first car. It used to belong to his grandmother, who gave it to him and he fixed it - more or less from scratch.

I used summing for the upper heart and then there was no need for guessing
#7: Gator (gator) on Jul 30, 2019 [HINT]
I took a look at this again with Ki's prompting, and found a way forward. Looking at R21C37. If this cell is red, then it would cause R17 to be invalid. So R21C37 is a dot. The rest of the puzzle will solve with line logic.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

I solved it mostly right to left. My familiarity with the model made the VW logo easy to solve without any logic, only because I knew what it would be.

So I guess I used "logo logic". :)

And I absolutely LOVED my 1984 Rabbit (Golf in everywhere else but USA) GTI. With an Ansa exhaust system and competition tires, that thing embarrassed a lot of much more expensive cars in the twisties!
