Puzzle Description:

A tam o'shanter is a Scottish cap. Tam O'Shanter is a famous poem by Robert Burns, and Scottish Bonnet is the name of a type of chili pepper that is hotter than a jalapeno.

Thanks, Tonia. My son John, who is Native American, is nuts about Scotland and all things Scottish. He has a kilt and a sporan and a tam that looks just like this. And he has bagpipes too, but the smaller ones (parlor pipes) that are not too loud. He must have Scot blood in his ancestry. :-)

Jewel, here's a joke to go with the puzzle:

A Scotsman visited London for his annual holiday and stayed at a large hotel. However, he didn't feel that the natives were very friendly. "At three o'clock every morning," he told a friend, "they hammered on my bedroom door, one the walls, even on the floor and ceiling. Sometimes they hammered so loud I could hardly hear myself playing the bagpipes."
