I thought this was going to be a nun and a mini-nun (perhaps a *very* young novice?) until the very end!

LOL, Robyn.
#7: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 4, 2010
nice puzzle'
why the line between them?
#8: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Apr 4, 2010 [SPOILER]
The white vertical bars are their sleeveless arms, not negative space.

I saw it as negative space first, too. Then they look like nuns. :P

The woman is standing slightly in front of the young girl, who is watching the woman. Without that vertical black line, the woman would have very fat arms! :-)

#13: Karen Sakamoto (baddemo) on Sep 16, 2013 [SPOILER]
I thought this was going to be Kenny from South Park. Who knows why - I sure don't.
#14: Ga Hendrick (GaHendrick) on Jul 2, 2018 [SPOILER]
Good role models make all the difference. Thanks for the puzzle.
#15: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jul 2, 2018 [SPOILER]
So on the bottom: what is the line supposed to be that is between adult & child?
#16: Gator (gator) on Jul 3, 2018 [SPOILER]
It is the outline of their arms, both adult and child. Or at least that is what I see.
