Looks more like some guy on a jungle excursion (complete with jungle hat) holding a jungle torch. Is that supposed to be a "sun" in the upper right corner?

Yes it is supposed to be a sun.

Round items should look a bit more round - there was plenty of space.

Is this your first puzzle? Not bad for a beginner! It can take some time to figure out how to make things look right in pixels. Most solvers don't care for big blocks of white space like in the left side. You can put additional things there, or make a smaller puzzle.

Matt, this was a good try for your first puzzle. Thanks for making it solvable. After you read the "Advice on Creating Puzzles" section (on the puzzle creation page) and after you solve some more puzzles here, you will see what works best.
