I recently learned that the conservative wing of the US Democratic party call themselves "Blue Dog Democrats" because the offices they originally met in were decorated with Rodrigue's paintings. So this can be treated as a political icon, if you like.

Rodrigue is from Louisiana. He has paintings all over New Orleans.

That's a neat story about the Blue Dog Democrats. :)

Not too easy and not too hard. I recognized it as Rodriguez's Blue Dog when I was only 1/3 of the way through. Excellent puzzle.
