I think he can afford the opinion though. :) my gibson is 2nd hand and the price was about that of an epiphone. Anyhow, I think that Epiphones are the best budget (sic) brands. Quality-wise, Squiers are also very good but imho Epiphones have more character since they include some exclusive models in their range (Casino). :)
