Puzzle Description:

"Let's share the Star fruit," said Tortoise. "And after we eat all the fruit we can..." "No, no, no!" interrupted Monkey. "Let's share the WHOLE tree." "Um... okay," said Tortoise. "Great!" said Monkey. "I'll just take the top half and you can have the bottom." Monkey laughed and laughed as he walked off with all the delicious Star fruit, leaving Tortoise with nothing but a bunch of muddy sticks. "Wow," he said, "tricking Tortoise was easy! I am a very clever monkey."

these are fun. I've never heard this fable before so I'm excited to see how it ends.

There's a few different versions of the story, actually. I didn't much care for the one our pastor told us a couple of Sundays ago, but happily I've figured out a way to include both his ending and the ending I like best. You'll see! :-)
