She was fantastic, but I am amazed at the disrespect that each person gave her. I would have thought that she has become famous for her voice and her courage, rather than because she dresses and looks different from the average star. In my work i have to help professionals get over their preconceived notions about parenting, behavior, disabilities, and their false assumptions about people, especially those with neurological disabilities. Part of this is just basic human nature, and part of it is ignorance due to lack of awareness. We all have room to grow when it comes to awareness about ourselves and others and the world we live in together.
