Puzzle Description:

The alphabet song has the same tune as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". This is my first puzzle.

So is "Baa Baa Black Sheep"
#2: Barb Edwards (babarann) on Apr 11, 2009 [SPOILER]
also a good tune to teach your child your phone number!

Nice first puzzle - liked how the star wasn't completely symmetrical so you couldn't just guess the shape with out paying attention to the clues
#4: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Apr 11, 2009
Hey AT, somehow I don't think that was the intention, but nice thought anyway.
#5: zandperl (zandperl) on Apr 12, 2009 [HINT]
Thanks AT!

Adam, I did make it asymmetrical for two reasons: to be a bit more interesting in appearance (as sloppy as it may be), and b/c symmetrical puzzles aren't as interesting to solve.

Ok.

Glad you are making puzzles for us; looking forward to more! Thank you, and welcome.

Good job. Welcome.

Adam, I'm back. Out of my cast and ready for some of your big b & w puzzles. I'm catching up with some of the ones I've missed. It's my PT.

Welcome back, Wendy! Yes, these puzzles are great therapy, physical and otherwise. For me, they are therapy for stress and burnout.

Well, Wendy, I will try and oblige. I have done so many that I have developed puzzler's block. I think I can try and do a few more for ya!

stars are so hard to get in small images. this one's not bad
#12: CB Paul (cbpaul) on Oct 9, 2018 [SPOILER]
I like that the star is dancing!

Using this melody for the alphabet song could NOT be worse.
Rant coming!

1. "Z" comes right in the middle of a phrase (eighth bar of a 12-bar structure), so to resolve you have to add that entire "now I know my ABCs, next time won't you sing with me" crap.
2. The first interval is a major fifth (C to G), which is very difficult for little kids.
3. Kids don't know what the heck an "elemennopee" is.
4. Try singing the ABCs to "Mary Had a Little Lamb" - it fits perfectly, ends the melody on Z, and has mostly adjacent intervals (E D C D E E E, D D D, C E E).
5. Now all we need is every parent in the English-speaking world to teach this to their kids before they start school.

Merry Christmas and holiday celebrations to all!!!
