Heterochromia is the presence of different colored eyes in the same person. I'm not sure if it's the same name or even the same cause in animals. In humans it has to do with the amount of melanin in your irises.

A "so-called step-daughter?" LOL
#4: Byrdie (byrdie) on Mar 27, 2009
Yeah. Her mother and I lived together for 8 years but never married.

Gotcha.... makes sense now. I was thinking maybe she was so horrendous that you essentially disowned her or something like that. :-)

Different eye colored animals and people kind of freak me out.

Cute puzzle.

I had a so-called step daughter too, once upon a time. I got to be the so-called Mother of the Bride at her wedding. :-)

I had a step-daughter once but since I'm no longer married to her father (thank goodness!) does that make her, now, my so-called step-daughter?? I like her a lot better than I like him! lol

No. A so-called step daughter is the daughter of a so-called spouse, not of an ex-spouse. She'd be an ex-step-daughter, though if you still have a sort of mother/daughter relationship, then maybe a different term is needed, like "residual step-daughter" or something. I've known people were still close to the parents of their ex's. I guess those would be residual parents-in-law.

Yes, I have a pair of those, too, the residual parents-in-law. In fact, the ex is really the only member of his family I'm not close to. :-)

I once saw a man with "tri-colored" eyes -- one eye was one color (blue, I think), and the other eye was two colors (brown on top, green on the bottom -- or something like that.)

That was a cute, fun little puzzle.
