OMG. I have to ask... how old ARE you???#3: Hazel Hiller (hjhiller) on Mar 27, 2009
lol be 49 in a few months remember living out in the country and the elder couple next door would buy stamps from us since they didnt go into town often. He would stand at the fence and yell until we heard him. He would give me a nickel for a stamp. Otherwise I probably wouldnt remember the price from then. hehe#4: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Mar 27, 2009
That's not old at all! I was envisioning you to be like 90 someething from what you wrote, although very few 90-somethings would be on webpbn. :-)#5: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 30, 2009 [SPOILER]

I am NOT 90, BUT when I was VERY YOUNG a first class letter could be sent for three cents. I have a vague memory of when the postage rate was increased to four cents. Post cards rates were less, of course. This was a fun puzzle, btw. I kept trying to guess the riddle, even with the number and the perforations, I did not think of stamps.
