Puzzle Description:

Petra decides it's too far to walk and is waiting for the next bus. Lost dog is waiting beside her, hoping she will take him home with her. But no dogs allowed on the bus. What now?

Dogs ARE allowed on buses here, actually, but only in the far back. I'm not a dog person though, and my husband is allergic, so I can't take the lost dog home.

Luckily, the buses leave every 10 minutes in rush hours, so I don't have to wait very long.

Well, lucky for Lost Dog (and lucky for Petra), his master came along and found him before the bus arrived.

Is Petra waiting for the bus in Arizona?!? The flat roofs of the houses look southwestern. This was the most fun and challenging for its size- thanks!
#4: Petra Lassen (Stjarna) on Mar 11, 2009 [SPOILER]
I'm waiting for the bus in south western Sweden. :-) Daily. :-(

LOL, Minnie. The city is WEBPBN Town, where the architecture and weather can be just about anything. I love artistic license. :-) I actually did think about making sloped roofs, but the puzzle grid was too small. Besides, it's downtown, and even in Stockholm, the buildings are flat:

True, and there are flat roofs in Malmö too, where I work. No flat roofs in the little village I live in though.

Petra, can you make a puzzle of your village? Your puzzle of the school was really awesome. Do B/W if you can. Pretty please???
#8: Petra Lassen (stjarna) on Mar 11, 2009
LOL I'll think about it.

I enjoyed doing this very much. Thank you, Teresa!
#16: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 16, 2009
Thanks, JoDeen. I like crating these originals.
#17: Mary Thomas (marleethom) on Mar 22, 2009 [SPOILER]
I love it when you crate these originals. This one reminds me of me in Hialeah, always waiting for a bus. One an hour if I was lucky.
#18: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 22, 2009
Thanks, Mary. You see the bag next to her feet? Inside is a good book. I'll bet you carried one with you too. Hilaleah in Florida? You probably had nicer weather to wait in. Do you no longer live there?
#19: Mary Thomas (marleethom) on Mar 23, 2009
Nearly always carried a book wherever I went. Hialeah did have nice weather but has too many people in too small an area; too much competition, too many rules. I left 35 years ago.

Mississippi is better, mild winters and a bonus of Spring! and Autumn. :)

I always HAVE a good book in my bag. Right now, it's Peter Robinsons Past reason hated.

You got the song "Wishin' an' Hopin'" stuck in my head! I love how you stick little details like the bag at her feet into your puzzles.
#22: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Feb 18, 2011
i love the details too! there's even a waste basket next to the sign. you really get the feeling of waiting when you look at this puzzle. good thing they're not in colorado springs. a bus would never come-we've got the worst bus service in the world.

Excellent! The image is terrific, the solve is exactly to my liking, and the explanation of the title starts a whole story!
