Puzzle Description:

VODKA!!!!!!

#1: Byrdie (byrdie) on Mar 5, 2009 [HINT]

This puzzle requires some quessing, even if the solution is unique. Counting from the left edge, the top red blocks in the 14th and 16th columns are interchangeable. Solveable with the use of "alphabet logic."

For my tastes, only yummy if served with the proper mixer.

I didn't think it needed guessing, and I don't think the top reds in the 14th and 16th columns are interchangeable. If the red in column 14 were in the top row you'd have a red 2 there, which can't happen.

I didn't have to guess at all.

No guessing. Ditto #2

You must really like alcohol. I personally can't stand the smell of it...let alone the taste, but, to each his/her own.

no guessing required!
#7: Steve Johnson (swjohnson12) on Mar 6, 2009
The only thing I had to guess at was what it said after I finished. (maybe I needed to drink some 1st)

Lol, also no guessing, but I am with Telly. I tried some wine last week for the first time ever. Oh my gross. It's just very rotten grapejuice. You don't fool me.

Oops, you're right. Forgot about the cell next to it in the row.

Pretty puzzle, fun to solve. But it made me sad.

Back in my early adult coming-of--age drinking years, me and my friends thought vodka was yucky. Now the alcohol industry is pushing "yummy" flavored vodka, which is very appealing to young women. Too bad, since alcohol increases the risk of unprotected sex and sexual assault. Half of all women are drinking when they become pregnant, and half of all pregnancies are unplanned. So many babies are exposed without knowledge or intention. Very sad. It's also sad to see the title of this puzzle in caps with six exclamation points. Such enthusiasm for a product that causes so much destruction.

When I see alcoholic beverages, I see a drug that poisons. A drug that caused permanent brain damage to my son before he was born, that killed his birth parents and left him orphaned, that destroyed the dream I had of marrying the love of my life. Guess I'm just a little bitter about booze.

I'm sorry to be such a downer here, but if this comment helps just ONE person think about the risk and saves just one baby from being born with alcohol effects, then it's worth the risk of offending a few people. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. :-)

Well said, Teresa.

If you need to drink alcohol - just about everything atstes better than vodka. Plus, no one should drink it bare.

If you're going to make a text puzzle, this is the way to do it. Pretty interesting to solve.

I love some vodka if it's made into a martini!

Anything can be bad if it's used in excess and irresponsibly. You can actually drink too much water. And alcohol in moderation has some health benefits.

I prefer RUM :D

Well said, Teresa. I agree completely.

I also agree that responsible use of intoxicants is fine. It requires self-awareness and self-discipline.

That said, here's one of my favorite things to do: On a hot summer day, yard work. Pruning, digging up, transplanting, serious weeding. Stinky, sweaty, then in the shower. Clean and lotioned skin, long clean hair, fresh clean clothes.

Vodka, mango juice, ice cubes, all stirred with one of those popsicles made with real fruit juice and with real fruit chunks. With my feet up in a lawn chair under a tree or on the porch. Sip the drink, nibble at the popsicle.

Then walk to the neighborhood pub, which has really great burgers.

She said, on a cold rainy winter day.
Be well...
