peek at solution solve puzzle
quality: difficulty:
solvability: trivial
Puzzle Description:
An easy 911 pattern. Well I call it "easy" but Jan's checker calls it "boring."

911. *dies* And here I was wondering What the HECK?#2: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 19, 2009
I should probably explain for people in countries that don't use 911. That is the phone number to call in an emergency. It's called the "universal emergency tellephone number" but I discoverend it's universal only in the United States and Canada. Every country has their own system, as you can see if you look up 911 Emergency on Wikipedia.#3: m2 (mercymercy) on Feb 20, 2009 [SPOILER]
I just experimented to see what a 911 pattern would look like. Not urgent at all, rather calm after all the chaotic patterns.
Petra, what does *dies* mean?
Here we have 112 (mouth nose eyes)#4: Merili (merilinnuke) on Feb 20, 2009 [SPOILER]
We also have 112#5: Petra Lassen (stjarna) on Feb 20, 2009 [SPOILER]
Us too. But then again I think m2 and I are both from the same country. And I think most of us, if not all, know it's 911 in the US.#6: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 20, 2009
What I meant with dies was that I was embarrased I hadn't seen the 911, which became very obvious once I knew what I was looking for!
I was wondering what the heck you were thinking, Teresa!
Who are you, and why are you using Teresa's name??? LOL We all know you don't do color puzzles!!! :-)#7: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 20, 2009
LOL Adam. That was such a BORING puzzle, I just had to color it up a little. Have I gone on a bit too much about how I love B&W? Oops.#8: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 20, 2009
No, not at all. But I like that you are the way you are.#9: Byrdie (byrdie) on Feb 20, 2009 [SPOILER]
:-)
Interesting idea for a theme but once all the "white" spaces are solved the rest of the solution is just filling in color.#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 20, 2009
My apologies to everyone who thought it was too boring. Thank you for not calling it a WOT. To make it a wee bit more interesting, I'm giving it a new description:#11: Petra Lassen (stjarna) on Feb 20, 2009
It's my design for an emergency medical alert device, combining a monitor and walkie talkie to be worn by vulnerable people like the elderly or disabled. Vulnerable adults may have difficulty using a cell phone, or may lose it or forget to recharge it. This defice is always on, autorecharges, and is worn on the wrist. It has GPS capability to act as a tracker, and can relay vital signs to a remote system. Cool, huh?
LOL!#12: Arduinna (arduinna) on Feb 21, 2009
And you have to solve the puzzle before it will contact the ambulance.#13: Jan Wolter (jan) on Feb 21, 2009 [SPOILER]
No, wait, that might be a bad idea.
But designing puzzle to have particular number patterns in a clue is an interesting challenge. Maybe we could do a WC where the goal is to make the best possible puzzle where one of the clues is "5 4 3 2 1".#14: Jota (jota) on Feb 21, 2009
Sorry Theresa but I think you had a bad day!#15: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Feb 23, 2009
Jan's idea is interesting, let's see if the WC man picks it.

In England, it may or may not still be 999:#20: Rissa Moore (rissawise) on Apr 3, 2022

I forgot to tell the puzzle finder that I don't like colors, but this one came up and I really like it!
