Next thing we need is a pbn LOLcats series.

Absolutely Jan :)

I agree - continuing the cat series would be great fun. My question ... how did the red cat get up in the first place? They are often more hesitant to climb upwards, especially if there are books present. I speak from experience, having both cats and many bookcases.

I just created the answer to comment #6!

How fun! So easy to see the image once done with puzzle.

Ga, what's wrong with your cats? From my experience, cats get into/onto things. If there is a place big enough for a cat to park, it will likely park there at least once. If there is a way for the cat to climb it, it will likely climb it at least once. If there is an opening, the cat will (at least try to) explore it at least once. "If I fits in it, I sits in it."
You must have them trained well or something. That or your bookshelves don't have any nooks or places on/in which the cats might sit.
That or the cats have already explored the shelves while you weren't around, but not found anything interesting enough to warrant visiting them while you are present.

I didn't realise this was a 'Red cat' puzzle, so I was nicely surprised when I got to the head and realised what it was :D

And, yes, cats climb stuff. It's just what they do.

Cats usually leap up to the high places. Maybe back of the armchair up to top of the bookshelf.

very cute! I took the title as a solve tip/challenge and started with the red at the top instead of the easy black at the bottom. It solved just as well that way.
I love the simplicity of this picture - just enough to get a very clear image :)

Giant scorpion or lobster attacking from above.

That's one way to interpret it! :D
