I don't think there's any guessing involved, much less a LOT (the puzzle creator's upper case). Moderate lookahead, including the smile logic in two matching locations, is not guessing. I agree with Derby: the blue patterns were fun to solve. In particular I really like the super image that the one at the bottom revealed.
It looks like many solvers stayed away from even trying, probably because of its red question mark solvability, which I don't think it deserves. I know that's the reason I left it alone all these years, until now when I'm just about out of puzzles I haven't tried at all. Too bad, because it's a good solve with a worthwhile outcome.
