skates not skis#2: Jan Wolter (jan) on Jan 12, 2009
A nice image, which could easily be fixed to eliminate the multiple solution problem. It'd be a great puzzle if that were fixed.#3: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Jan 12, 2009 [SPOILER]
Yes, ice skate.#4: Shallyn (shallyn) on Jan 12, 2009
I actually had skis just like that. You could attach wheels, skis, or blades to them. They were pretty cool.#5: Byrdie (byrdie) on Jan 12, 2009 [SPOILER]
I think I've discovered a new form of logic, specific only to WebPBN. I think it was Jota a few puzzles back that tried to call it "Social Logic." On one of the recent comments I read Jan called it "either-or" logic. I'm going to name it, as it only *logically* can be: "Shay Logic."#6: m2 (mercymercy) on Jan 13, 2009
The puzzle is about 99% solvable by logic alone. It's only the 2 verticle edge rows, and therefore the bottom rows that involve a guess and really only two spots. (On a 10 x 10 that would be 98% - talk about math challenged!) When one applies "Shay Logic" and looks at the title, there really can only be one solution - the turned up tip on the "ski" (skate) has to go in one place, therefore the other spot must fall where it does.
Yep, Shay logic. I'm sticking with that.
Yeah I can agree with you byrdie... we did come up with Marz logic too. I was just thinking that social logic would be the umbrella over the specific authors.#7: Jota (jota) on Feb 27, 2009
Bravo!
