Somehow surf man has an extra limb sticking out of his head. Maybe he's an alien. Or I guess it could be a pigtail, he's facing to the left, bending forward a bit, looking down at the tip of his board, with a pigtail flying behind him. That works, though it's kind of an odd, unbalanced pose. Maybe he's about to take a dive. With the pigtail, he could could be a baby, but it says "surf man" so I guess not.

I concur with Jan's comments though I think it could be the prototypical long hair surfer type with his hair flowing out behind him. Another row or two above would've allowed for a chin and a much more pleasant image.

I was thinking he was wearing one of those streamlined bicycle helmets to protect himself from a nasty fall. :-)
More likely a ponytail, though. But most likely an oversight on Shay's part.

I think he's not in the water yet, his left knee is on the board while he stretches the right one and bows while a cargo ship passes by.

I think he is looking down and he has a ponytail. Oh that's what Jan said. I concur then.
