Puzzle Description:

Ebola virus (Family Filoviridae - negative sense RNA virus) as seen here:http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2005-03/30/xin_400302300937687238426.jpg Death occurs in 50-90% of patients infected, depending on the type of Ebola contracted. It is a hemorrhagic virus, so it's ugly. Transferred only through direct contact with blood, body fluids, organs and semen. There is no cure or treatment.

Thanks. I'm a microbiologist, so I thought I'd share with everyone. Glad you like it. =)

I'm glad you decided to make a series of these- although the subject matter can be a bit grim. Thank you for another puzzle.

I though the virus was a cute little guy-like a Dr Seuss worm. The description was a bit of a downer. Any nice happy viruses out there? Thanks for the puzzle.

I remember that image from a movie...oh yeah "Outbreak" with Dustin hoffman

My apologies. I didn't see it as grim, I guess, but rather a fascinating challenge. I meant no harm with this.

Once again, I apologize.

There are plenty of "happy" viruses and bacteria, but I guess they're rather boring and I'm not sure that it would interest you. For example:

"Certain species of Treponema live in the rumen of a cow's stomach, where they break down cellulose and other difficult to digest plant polysaccharides for their host."
