I found the solve really tough, but the finished picture is just gorgeous. We've seen lots of variations of this subject over these many years, but few as stunning as this one. You must have put in a huge effort to make it solvable with only moderate lookahead. I haven't been commenting much recently but I'm still out here, and I do want to say thank you, Eric, for this puzzle and all the others you've made for us.#4: Eric (kelalatir) on Oct 13, 2026
You are most welcome, Lollipop!#5: derby (Derby) on Oct 13, 2026
While I'll take credit for translating the picture into a PBN, I must admit I use reference pictures for the designs of the images in my puzzles. My challenge is to take a picture and fit it into the pixels and colors available, and then make it a puzzle that is fun to solve.
I've been lurking on this site for more than a decade, but I only started making puzzles about a year ago. I'm finding making PBNs far more fun than I expected. From my experience this past year, I have three mandates when I start a new puzzle: Make it logically solvable, make it more challenging than a fill-in, and make the picture something worth seeing when the puzzle is complete. With these mandates, making a puzzle becomes a new kind of puzzle in itself.
Nice job on this puzzle. Fun solve and great image.#6: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Oct 13, 2026
Oh I like that! (About how Eric's three mandates make making a puzzle a new kind of puzzle in itself.)
