Derby - You may already know this, but if you go to settings, click on the Options tab, and uncheck "Automatic Error Checking" (and then click on the "Save Your Changes" button), that turns off the red ball that shows up in a row/column when there is an error, which should help prevent freezing up.
For blocks of color, if you mark each end and then hover your mouse in the middle and press the "h" key to fill in horizontally, or the "v" key to fill in vertically, that can often make large blocks of color go much faster. Though I don't think that is an option on an iPad. You are brave to do Webpbn on an iPad!!
If you already knew all that, my apologies for being repeaty!
