The likelihood is that there is life somewhere out there. However, given the progress we've made over the last few hundred years, which is a infinitesimal part of the age of the universe, it's extremely unlikely alien life would be at a similar evolutionary stage to us.#6: Ailsa Hebert (bazette3) on Jun 19, 2026
The most likely is some sort of primordial sludge. At the opposite end of possibilities is alien life way more evolved and advanced than we are, which they would have to be to be able to have discovered/invented the technology to be able to travel the vast distance to get to us.
Putting it a different way, there probably is life out there, but we'll never know about it.
