On the subject of cleaning floors, we call our non-Swiffer a Swiffer and our non-Roomba a Roomba. My Shop-vac is a Shop-vac but I'd call it a Shop-vac even if it wasn't :P

Valerie, it was an "as an aside" comment based on the fact that Heroin is also a brand name :P

Well I guess it is actually a product name rather than the manufacturer/brand name. It was a trademark product name sold by Bayer. They marketed it as a cough suppressant and morphine substitute. So it's less like a brand name (ie, Xerox) and more like Styrofoam (an eponymous product name by Dow).
