Indeed! But I don't believe it can be solve w/o guessing. I'll wait for the experts!#2: AM (adrian) on Jan 12, 2026
Solved using logic only, no guessing required.#3: Joanne Firla (JoFirla) on Jan 12, 2026
I'm looking for a starting hint. So far I've only been able to place one black square...#4: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jan 12, 2026 [HINT]

Valerie, right before 9x19 turns black, you can see that 13x19 can't be black (should have dotted it first), so that results in 19x9 being definitely black.#14: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Jan 15, 2026
Found to be solvable with deep lookahead by dbouldin.#15: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jan 15, 2026
Goodness that was tough. I wish I had tracked my solve! Or, alternately, I wish I had time to look into these hint comments to help with next steps. I definitely didn't guess, but definitely stepped beyond moderate lookahead. I'll try to revisit later.#16: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jan 15, 2026 [SPOILER]

Valerie, the hint above was based on a full undo/redo of the saved puzzle. Now I noticed that the undo data is corrupted and displays incorrect cell content relative to my original solve, and so my hint is incorrect.#19: AM (adrian) on Jan 18, 2026 [HINT]
I'll solve the puzzle from scratch again and get back to you.
In the meantime, you can recreate the incorrect undo issue by loading my solution and doing a full undo, and you'll see that the grid is not empty.
