Excellent.#2: Eric (kelalatir) on Jan 8, 2026
It tests browser performance limits though, especially Chrome, which became unresponsive for minutes at a time, making it hard to advance, especially in the last third. i had to switch to Firefox to finish the puzzle, as it remained more responsive
It could be that the blots are making matching against the corresponding regular expression more challenging.
I experienced the same performance issues when making the puzzle and testing it out. Oddly, at one point I had to switch from Firefox to Chrome to get it to work, and then later had to switch back to get the script working again.#3: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Jan 8, 2026
I'm going to try to avoid puzzles this large in the future as much as possible, but I couldn't seem to shrink this puzzle down in size and still put in all the detail to maintain the picture quality and be true to the source material. Also, this puzzle took at least 3 times longer to create than the puzzles that don't exceed 40x40.
believe it or not, I solved this puzzle!!! Logic only, not even a mistake. Three days work.#4: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 9, 2026
Adrian and Eric - If your browser is having a hard time with large puzzles, you can turn off error checking and speed things up quite a bit. Go to Settings, select the Options tab, and uncheck the box for Automatic Error Checking. Then at the bottom of the page, click Save Your Changes. I hope that helps!#5: AM (adrian) on Jan 9, 2026
Thanks Valerie. Eric, please keep publishing large puzzles then:)#6: Eric (kelalatir) on Jan 10, 2026
Thank you, Valerie! I may try that. I assume the manual error checking is still an option in that case.#7: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 11, 2026
Yes, it should be. The automatic error checking is what puts a little red circle next to the clues when there is an error while you are solving the puzzle. So if you turned it off, you would lose that, but hopefully you would also gain back all those minutes when the computer is frozen to *do* the error checking to see if it needs to show any little red circles.#8: derby (Derby) on Jan 11, 2026
Enjoyed this puzzle. If you want to make it a bit more challenging, I suggest you add white pixels here and there. Otherwise, very good.
