In 1950 I was 19 and I can remember that only the rich had blinkers. The same with a/c when it came out. We put them on our wish list and waited. Eventually along with radios, windshield washers,etc. they became standard.
In the 50's we were just starting our family so it was a while before we had TV. I remember gathering all the TV tubes and heading for the nearest convenience store to test the tubes and hoping they had ours in stock.
