I agree with Meira. The problems we face today should be discussed everywhere. It's an emergency. We must speak out wherever we can. We must find a way to oust or block the people in our government who are threatening our democracy and aligning with Putin.

As a Canadian, I'm feeling quite betrayed. Pretty sure Ukrainians are even more so.

Here is my advice: Community is more important now than ever, and we should all find our "tribes"; invest in your close relationships; vote in any and all elections, even local ones; and maybe stay away from Reddit.

I was hoping someone else would chime in, but no such luck… So here goes…
As I said in my initial post “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”…. Read the history of Nazi Germany, and Mussolini’s Italy… then tell me “Give it time” and “Look at the positives.” Oh, and maybe you should also look at the global response to 9/11 vis-a-vis NATO Article 5…. But then again, those fact counteract the MAGA narrative… so I’m not holding my breath…
All I’ll say is that as a proud Canadian we will NEVER become the 51st State…. #ElbowsUp!!!!

Our president is a complete lunatic, but please don't think most Americans are. I don't know how that nut-case managed to win the election, but I'm sure a lot of people - especially government workers who are being fired - would happily change their votes now.

If Canada were to become the 51st state, where would decent Americans seek asylum?
