Fun!

Unfortunately, due to not being able to tell blue clues from black clues, I am unable to solve what are probably some fun puzzles.

I've been blocked on most updates to the site because of my kiddo with special needs, but there was a plan to try to make the blue and black clues look more different from each other. I always think I'll have programming time soon, and then usually I don't, but when I do, I will prioritize this particular change!

Norma, I made the blue and the black look more different from each other in "SVG mode."

Here is how to change your settings to use it:

1) In the left column, click on Settings.
2) Click on the Optïons tab.
3) Scroll down to "Drawing Mode" and select "Use SVG mode."
4) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Save Your Changes."

For puzzles that you have looked at recently, the site may still remember that it was showing them to you in HTML mode. But when you go to a new puzzle or a puzzle that you have not viewed recently, that will be shown in SVG mode. Then the blue should be lighter.

For a puzzle that you have recently viewed in HTML mode, if you switched to SVG mode and want to see it that way: View the puzzle, then right-click on the white area near the puzzle, and select "Reload Frame" -- and that should hopefully switch the puzzle to the mode that you currently have selected.

Anybody who tries this, please let me know what you think. The colors may still need more adjusting, so feedback would be appreciated!

Oh, that new blue makes a big difference, I think that'll be easier to differentiate both for clues and for squares. Thanks, Valerie!

Coolness!

Hm. Poking at the puzzle some more, I think maybe the blue in SVG mode is *too* light. The blue *is* easy to differentiate from the black, but it's kind of far from how the puzzle was intended to look. Maybe I should darken it a tiny bit?
#18: Jota (jota) on Jun 24, 2024
I think you should!

Ok, I made the blue in SVG mode a notch darker, but still lighter than it originally was. It looks good to me, but, as always, to make sure that it works for lots of people and not only for me, I would appreciate it if other people would try it out and send me feedback about whether this shade of blue (if you are in SVG mode) is working okay for you.

I like this blue much more than the previous one

This blue looks good to me too
