This got challenging towards the end; not sure if my 'logic' was influenced by the fact that I knew what it was. Let me know if guessing was required (and sorry, if so!).

I’m don’t think I had to guess. It is solved with colour logic.

The part I found most difficult was at the very end, with the bits of black trim around the red of the feet, around columns 3-8 and rows 21-30. By this point, I had solved ALL the colours, leaving only black left, so colour logic no longer applied in that part. It was ultimately row 27 that got it for me. I had to use lookahead to figure out which squares could or could not be black, in order to narrow things down and finish the rest of the black.

Specifically, I was able to rule out R27C5. Once I could fill that in as white, the black 2 had to go in R27C3-4, and the rest all fell in line after that.

If R27C5 were black, then the 2 black on R29 would have to be either C3-4 or C6-7, and both of those cases resulted in a conflict.

#3: This doesn't quite track, since the black 2 in R29 can already only go in C3-4 or C6-7 after line & color logic, so they can't both cause a contradiction.

This is what I came up with:

R29: If the 2 is in C3-4, then R30C4 would be black and R26-27 would both have C5-6 and C8 marked black. This doesn't leave anywhere for the first 1 in R28, so the move is invalid.

The rest solves with LL.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by wombatilim.
#6: Alan Lafond (Cural) on Jul 6, 2023 [HINT]
#4: Your statement is correct. However, what you had missed is that the contradiction is not being caused by the black 2 in R29. It's being caused by the black in R27C5. I was presenting the case for R27C5 being white, since making it black creates a contradiction. This is how I ruled out that square.

R29 has the 2 black on C6-7 in the correct solution. But if I make R27C5 black, then made R29C6-7 black, I would get a contradiction.

I used to love / hate that game!
#8: Emimonster (emimonster) on Jul 17, 2023 [HINT]
both 3 and 4 are far enough ahead for me such that my brain has to handle them as trial and error. But maybe that's just my brain can't hold all that inside it at once without actually placing dots in a trial like fashion.
