Initial line & color logic solves 38%.#2: Gator (gator) on May 13, 2023 [HINT]
R5: Whether C17 or C19 is black, R6C19 will be black. L&CL (including R10C17 white, which the helper doesn’t catch).
C29: The red 1 will be in either R11 or R12. Either one will place the remaining black in C30, so R5-10 C30 are white. L&CL.
R12: One of C10-11 and one of C28-29 will be red. Each of the 2 reds will place a black in R13, so R13 C12-17 and R13 C20-27 are white. L&CL.
Stuck here for now, currently at 49%.
Either R4C9 or R6C9 has to be black. In either case, this forces R6C8 to be black. LL. 61%#3: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 15, 2023 [HINT]
don't have time to overlay my strategy with you guys to note where i pick up...or whether some of this is unnecessary. i will point out a fun dot of line logic that i (and others) would consider "gator logic" and that is#4: Wombat (wombatilim) on May 15, 2023 [HINT]
- whether the black in C12R10 is the one clue or part of the 5, C17R10 is a dot.
anyway here's my solve after initial color and LL:
- whether C29R11 or C29R12 is red, C30R5-10 are dots
- whether C9R4 or C9R6 are black, C8R6 is black
- if 11 starts in C3, R13 is violated, so C3R5 is a dot
- no matter where the 2 in C3 goes, there will always be dots in C4R4,13
- whether C4R5 or C15R5 are black, C15R6 is a dot.
- if 11 starts in C4, R11 is violated, so C4R5 is a dot.
- whether C11R10 or C16R10 is black, C11R7 is a dot :)
- the black at C12R11 has to be the black to the right of the first red by color logic. because of this the 2 clue in R11 is restricted and no matter where it goes C4R5 is a dot.
- by color logic, there will always be a black in either C10R13 or C11R13 AND C28R13 or C29R13. this dots all undotted C12-27R13.
color and LL to finish. guessing some of this is "deep" but need to run. good luck all!
"- whether C11R10 or C16R10 is black, C11R7 is a dot :)"#5: Ailsa Hebert (bazette3) on May 15, 2023
This doesn't quite track. If R10C11 is black, it makes R7 C14-15 black for sure, and if R10C16 is black, it makes R7C12 black for sure. Unless you left out an intermediate step, there's no direct overlap here.
Did not require any guessing. Thanks for the puzzle!#6: Koreen (mom24plus) on May 17, 2023
an important job!#7: Eric (kelalatir) on May 23, 2023 [HINT]
Fun puzzle! I concur that this is logically solvable. I used some advanced color logic, and some two-way logic, as well as some edge logic where available. A great mix of logic to solve this puzzle.
