There was this really cool guy who used a wheelchair in the building where we were working. One winter day, he came into the building all wound up. They had plowed the roads and shoveled the sidewalks in the city, but they didn't shovel the access between the two. He was wheeling down the main road when he got stopped. He pointed to the snow barrier trying to explain to the cop that he couldn't physically get back onto the sidewalk after crossing the road. I think he got a written warning for being in the street. We were flabbergasted with him. That was the moment I realized I had never thought about the importance of handicapped ramps.
