I left my husband a year ago (end of March), and my divorce was finalized a year and a day after I left! My life has been leaps and bounds better since I left him, and I got my maiden name back last Friday. (It's Norwegian)

So I'm the same Kristen, just with a slightly different name. ^_^

Congratulations, Kristen, on the positive steps you've taken in your life and the happy changes you've made! Five stars for the meaning in your puzzle! (Just don't leave *us*, okay?)

#3: Scott (McEncheese) on Apr 9, 2023
Congrats, Kristen. I know how freeing that can be. Best of luck for the new you.

Congratulations! I know the feeling of relief of being free of someone I was not married to.

I'm glad your life has improved so much, and this puzzle reminded me of people I'd gotten free of, and even a few I haven't seen for a while but still have the occasional thought of and want to get out of my head.

Seeing others moving on successfully from things big or small helps me, too.

Congrats Kristen! My first (and final) such event took place in a similar time of year, actually, fittingly & ironically, on April Fools Day! :)
#6: Angel Carol (thab) on Apr 10, 2023
Congratulations! My divorce made my life, even as a single mom with less income, much easier and increased our quality of life.
#7: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Apr 10, 2023
Congratulations! (And thanks for making a puzzle small enough that I can solve it on my phone!)
#8: Jota (jota) on Apr 10, 2023
Congrats Kristen!
#9: Joanne Firla (JoFirla) on Apr 10, 2023
Here's to your newfound freedom and better days ahead. Cheers!

Sadly we stay in a relationship longer than we should. It's familiar and fear of the unknown play a part I, too, finally made the move and it was for the better. Good luck, Kristen.

I stayed FAR longer than I should have. My son was 20 when I moved out last year.
#12: Alison P Deem (Indigo1) on Apr 11, 2023
Happy for you!
#13: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Apr 11, 2023

That's great! I am also engaged to a dear friend, whom I've known longer than my ex-husband. We plan to marry as soon as my 60-day waiting period is over, and I can get on his medical insurance. Then we'll have a larger ceremony next spring, for friends and family. ^_^

Also, I've found that I'm not in here as much, now that my life is more fulfilling. Also, I don't have a desk job with lots of down time. :)
