I went to work for a printing company that was having growing pains. I joined their accounting department which they had moved to a building a half a block away that had been a gas station. The restroom was very tiny and there was barely enough room for a toilet and a wash basin. One day as I was leaving the restroom I heard a very nice gentleman who also worked there clear his throat and diplomatically say, "Don't look now but I think you are being followed." I turned around and saw that I had snagged the end of the roll of toilet paper in my clothing and the toilt paper was obediantly following me across the room.

Now how in the blazes did he expect you to not look?!

Actually he was being subtle to let me know what had happened so that I could correct the situation and get rid of the toilet paper without a lot of fanfare.

Lesson learned. Be thankful for diplomats. :)

Why are embarrassing things so much funnier when it happens to someone else? What a sweet gentleman. Without stepping on anyone's toes, can I just say that in the last few generations during our quest for something better, we've lost this type of gentleman/lady behavior that was part of the general kindness and respect expected of everyone?

Thank you everyone. And thanks for taking time to solve and for being silly David.

This happened a very long time ago when people had different attitudes. The gentleman in question was a very sweet man approaching retirement. He was very kind and had a wonderful sense of humor.
