The famous mistaking one food for another. Fortunately most are minor and don't require attempting to drown oneself.

I had a friend who was a waiter who went to the kitchen to prepare a bowl of chocolate mousse which was in the refrigerator next to the bean dip which was the same color. You guessed it. He spooned some bean dip into a bowl, topped it off with a generous portion of whipped cream and served it to the owner of the restaurant.

ROFL

Those little favors at the wedding? They were not mints. They were bath fizzies.

My friends say I keep them amused. This is why. Bath fizzies taste like ... well, they're not good.

Norma, that reminds me of the student worker who declared himself the Maitre D' of our dorm's food service. When he was working at the entrance, he would sometimes wear a purple tuxedo, bow deeply, and welcome everybody to the cafeteria. When he worked the dessert counter, he would often take a few different desserts, cover them ahead of time in so much whipped cream that you couldn't tell which dessert you were getting, and then he would offer them to cafeteria-goers as "Dessert Surprise." Fun!

What fun, Val. Our cafeteria was so bad it's where I learned to like beets. I didn't like and did not eat beets before college so it was the only vegetable that I couldn't tell whether or not they had ruined it.

I applaud that young fellow, Valerie. Life can be made so much more fun and interesting with people such as he, who think outside the box. I always try to encourage people who are brave enough to add zest to the world!

Oh, and that delicious looking ice cream at grandma and grandpa's anniversary party? WHIPPED BUTTER.

Reminds me of when my brother was still in a high chair. He thought the bowl of mashed potatoes was ice cream. Mom gave him some and his face showed utter confusion and disappointment. All my Dad said was, surprise!

I was at a restaurant as a kid, and I ordered cherry pie. They served it with whipped cream on top, and when I fussed at eating it my parents said "You ordered it, you eat it." Well, I managed to scoot the pie out from under most of it, but that was not good enough; now I had to finish the topping without the sweet of the pie. Well I finished almost all of it before my mother finally relented and dipped her finger in the topping. Her face went white when she realized they had made me eat a huge dollop of sour cream. Needless to say they made sure the server didn't charge us for the pie.

LOL Do you avoid whipped cream now?

ROTFLOL over and over...gotta go find a tissue to wipe my eyes...

I love sour cream on some things but not on cherry pie. Ew!

Joanne -- Actually it meant that I finally caved and brought my laptop to the hospital. :) But as of this evening we are home again!
