Typical. I once bought my cat what I throught was a really cute toy. He looked at it. Said meh. Went back to playing with the bottle cap he had found.

I've never had a cat, so didn't know they were so playful.

#3 Depends a lot on the cat. Fetching is somewhat uncommon, but most of them do like to chase things. Our other cat, Kiwi, will only play with things when she thinks no one is looking, and if you try to entice her she'll act like she's above such things. The exception is the cat wand (resembles a short fishing pole with a feather at the end of the string), which both cats love so much we have to hide it when we're not using it; otherwise one of them will find it, try to carry the feather somewhere, and wind up getting tangled in the string (this has happened more than once).
