Hmm, that's interesting ... I actually set it while I edited, before I published! That's my usual MO, but maybe there's something odd going on there, or maybe I just need to wait until after publishing.

Or maybe I set it and then edited a few pixels, which (rightly) automatically reset the status, because it's a different puzzle.

Andrew and David: Publishing a puzzle unsets the solvability setting. If you want it to stick, you need to first publish and then set the solvability.

Also, when you publish or update a puzzle, the site runs its solver to automatically decide the solvability, so it usually will automatically set it for you. The only time it won't is when it can't tell on its own.

Valerie, thanks for following up (again)! All this makes so much sense now. It's nice to have that convenience from the site itself.

Oh, by the way, the answer is "Liar Trail." I meant it as a callback to #36400. I probably should have added a tree or something.
