Hm. This is similar, but not the same:

But I feel like I've seen exactly this puzzle before.

Sigh... Adam would know!

100% agree Valerie, I feel like I've seen it AND Adam definitely would have known! Also, thanks for the laugh, Meg!

OCDAdam would have known....hahahaha on the "tie fighter"! tnx for the Star Wars reference. WTF happened to Adam? He was shady at best, but had a brilliant mind. he could work numbers and probabilities and just see things. that is very rare. An Arizona resident, I gathered from tidbits of various comments. but I really never knew much about him. the site is a community, and it is better with the more we have. the guy could piss me off at times, but he was a brain. and contributed. wish he was back. I'd be here more often just to have our discussions.

Kurt - On puzzle 4707 there's a discussion of what may have happened to Adam:

Well, I was curious if there really was another puzzle exactly like this or not. I searched for all 5x5, unique, line solvable, no blots, 2 color puzzles....and checked every one of them. I can definitely say that this puzzle has never been done on this site before now.

I did find several puzzles though that are duplicates of each other. Not surprising given only 25 cells to work with.

Hugs, Kurt!

Also, good to see you back around here again!

Thanks Gator for doing that research. I feel much better knowing that I've created one unique combination of blots on a 5x5 grid out of the roughly 33.5 million possibilities (thankfully, you only had to check those that have been created). :)

as per the flag thingie, miss meg. infra pink did a puzz that a title, "In need of a breeze", or some such. I'd argue that it is the best puzzle on the site. though others have their own opinion, which is duly granted. and yes, it turns out to be a flag

you need to do color logic, which is my fav....it's damn tricky, but solves. and the final image is tremendous, given the pixelation of the site itself. you can choose your own fav. that's mine

Like so many, my first encounter with Adam was not a happy one. I misunderstood his listing of puzzles with the same theme and took it as criticism. I learned though that it was just something he did and grew to like seeing other intrepretations.

Given the number of puzzles we now have it seems almost impossible that that this simple design was never done before. Which is probably why is wasn't because we all though it had been.

I think two of my favorites are the flag you mentioned, Kurt, and your Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

I forgot about the tree. it's been awhile...I do like to keep quiet and revisit old puzz's from time to time. maybe I'll do that agin in the next bit. I don't remember the title, but Manda's daughter's ballet thingie made for a good puzz. I'll re-visit that one too
